The Berlin-based artist, whose works can be found in numerous private and public collections, recently spent a lot of time photographing in the historic “Erbgericht” building on the edge of Saxon Switzerland. An exquisite selection of images is now celebrating its premiere in Frankfurt. The exhibition marks the conclusion of a series that Grützner has been working on for a decade.
The whole thing is rounded off with the publication of a catalogue. “Erbgericht” offers a fresh look at the original themes of photography: space, light and the reprodution of reality. Let yourself be bewildered by Grützner’s virtuoso handling of spaces, seduced by the vibrant colours and leave reality behind.
